Toyota Recall Part 2

Toyota’s attempt to uphold its good image is continued to be put to the test as more recall has spread in Europe and Asia. For those of you who have no inkling what’s going on, the problem with the world’s largest car maker is the defective gas pedals that cause out of control acceleration.

Toyota’s impediment to its revenue and reputation has gotten much worse seeing as it had previously freeze production from several of its factories in North America. The recall in Europe has become eventual since the defective accelerator pedals were also used in Toyota’s European market.

Profits of Toyota have by now suffered from the financial slump but this adverse turn of event will not only further cause danger to their profit but will also put a big scar on their reputation as a provider of top-notch value cars with reliable characteristics. Toyota would also have to shell out hundreds of millions of dollars for repairs and competitors have obviously achieved an advantage.

In the US, a number of disasters involving Toyota cars have previously taken place which caused fatalities. One very disturbing report came from a 911 call in the San Diego, California where four individuals in a Lexus crashed because of a jammed accelerator pedal.

In Europe, an estimated 1.8 million Toyota vehicles is likely to be recalled and the bad news doesn’t stop there. The pending recall in China is also said to total over 75,000 especially for Toyota RAV4s. All have the same gas pedal poblem.

Is Toyota to be blamed for the gas pedals? Maybe`Perhaps in part. Toyota is absolutely held answerable for this but a notable reality is that Toyota gets their gas pedals from a third party source, CTS Elkhart. Although CTS has supplied new and better gas pedal replacements, Toyota regaining their reputation and consumer confidence remains to be seen.

, [other involuntary acceleration problems include floormats trapping gas pedals.

Other issues have also risen on other parts of the world where Toyota has a strong market grasp. One of which is in Southeast Asia where a number of Toyota Innova drivers complain about D4D fuel pumps where the vehicle has a possible tendency to stop due to insufficient fuel delivery.

As if these issues weren’t enough, new-found news have emerged about a recall of the Prius, Toyota’s forefront for green technology. Gas pedals are not the issue with the Prius but its brake pedal instead. where many Prius drivers in the US and Japan have grumbled about random unresponsive braking.

The Toyota car models being recalled are 2009-10 Corolla, 2009-10 RAV4, 2009-10 Matrix, 2007-10 Camry, 2005-10 Avalon, 2007-10 Tundra, 2010 Highlander, and 2008-10 Sequoia. If you are an owner of any of these models, you should address this to your dealer and have them resolve the issue. Should you come across a problem with your accelerator, it is advised that you step on the brake pedal with a sudden stomp instead of little by little and pull-up the handbrake.
